Shoes Belong in Bed! Men Go Crazy for Them
Do you refuse to have sex in boots or court shoes? Then you may be unnecessarily depriving your partner — and in fact yourself — of many pleasurable experiences. Retifism (a fetish focused on women’s shoes) is among the most common male fetishes, and as long as it doesn’t get out of hand, there is no reason to forbid or suppress it. Quite the opposite.
Encountering a man “suffering” from retifism is by no means rare — it is considered the third most common sexual fetish, right after classic fetishism (clothing) and fetishes for latex and leather. What’s more, a shoe fetish is often combined with a leather fetish — many men are intensely aroused simply by a woman walking past them or brushing against them while wearing high latex boots.
Sexy legs and a sign of dominance
So what exactly excites men about women in shoes? Most commonly, you’ll hear these two answers:
Shoes make legs look sexy. Hardly any man is aroused by a woman in sporty trainers — most are drawn to court shoes or high-heeled boots. These visually lengthen women’s legs, making them slimmer and more attractive.
Men are also aroused by the way women walk in high heels. Heels force women to walk upright, which highlights feminine features — the chest is pushed forward, the bottom appears firmer. The stride naturally shifts from hurried to sensually swaying. Women in heels move their hips and bottoms by up to 25% more than in flat shoes.
A woman in heels appears dominant. Many men have a submissive nature and desire a woman to take control in sex — to dominate them. Heels perfect this dynamic: the woman is taller, more confident and sexier. And that’s a powerful trigger. Even otherwise dominant men sometimes enjoy adopting a submissive role — a sign of healthy sexuality and a willingness to experiment.
Heels for better sex?
According to one study, heels of around seven centimetres may even enhance sexual performance. Dr Maria Angela Cerrutová from Verona, Italy, claims that wearing such shoes activates the lower abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, which are crucial during sex. “The study suggests that daily wear of reasonably high heels could, in ideal circumstances, even replace pelvic floor exercises,” Cerrutová states.
No reason to avoid it
Some women strictly adhere to the rule that shoes don’t belong in bed. That’s a shame — such an experiment is at least worth trying. You’ll please your partner, feel more confident yourself, and most importantly, spice up your sex life with a new experience. Especially in later stages of a relationship, that really counts.
Also remember that the only person who will see you wearing shoes in bed is the partner who wants to. There’s no reason for embarrassment or shame. It’s your game, your fun, your pleasure. Small bedroom experiments have never hurt anyone.
